you had suggested to deselect 'Allow data preview to download in the background' in another threads and most of the users experience great improvement in running their queries
however I had tried to deselect it but encounter "Unexpected error" Evaluation was canceled" Retry, I had clicked Retry several times but still cannot

Please see this post which explains that this error should be cosmetic. You should be able to refresh them individually. Hope that helps.

Hi Mynda,
now I can't even see the UI in Power Query Editor when I click any query trying to edit in PQE, it shows Send Frown/OK and stay white screen in the PQE, the workaround now is to click on each query and goto Adv Editor to amend M Code then close and load and refresh in Natvie excel

I managed to fix it
somehow Power query trying to access a user.zip, temp.zip in my power query directory, keep on saying is denied, once I moved out these zip files to elsewhere, the UI resumed
