Dear MOTH,
I'm relatively new to Power Query and enormously grateful to you for making me aware of this great tool.
I need to rename a selected number of rows (Directorate - parent) to associate with the Division (child). This is needed so that I have an existing directorate split in different parts, to be able to show it separately in pivot table. When I employ 'Add Column from Example' I am being able to achieve the desired for one Directorate/Division combination, but not for the other (below 100 visible lines). Maybe, there is another way to achieve this.
My source data has about 2,700 rows and 38 columns (before unpivot). Hierarchy (text) columns are on one side and value columns on the other (budget, actual spend, forecast etc). I use Excel 365 (PC).
I do apologise if my question is not very clear - I hope the attached file will be of use.
Many thanks for your help and all your kind contribution to us Excel users.
Best Regards
Sadik (London, UK)

My apology!
I hope file is now attached ok.

Hi Sadik,
Thanks for sharing your file. It's not clear what you want to change these values to and if there is a pattern Power Query can follow. Add Column From Example requires a pattern so that it can predict what you want. If you simply want to Find and Replace some names with something else, then you'd be better off creating a separate table with the new names and using Merge to bring then into a new column.

Hi Mynda,
Many thanks. Of course, 'Merge' was much better solution for my problem.
Best Regards.
