Dear,
My dataset is connected with a sql (with gateway setup) and I don't have access to edit it, only IT does.
How can I change the format of a date column? I want to remove the time only show the date.
I know normally we can do this by using transform and change the format there, but since I don't have access to edit the database, this is not working. Can I change the format directly from the visual?

Hi Yuan,
Just change the data type to Date. It will remove the time component.

Thank you for your reply Mynda, indeed I know you can change the format normally but problem is I dont have access to edit, using transform or even add a new column...

If you're using Power Pivot in Excel or Power BI you can change the data type in the modelling side. Otherwise, you can format the values in the visual. It would help to know what program you're using; Excel or Power BI.
