Through work, I have a subscription to Microsoft365 and have Excel 2019 installed on my desktop computer.

In a recent blog post, Mynda explained how to use Power Query to import tables from .pdf files.  I have not used Power Query before.  When I try to add Power Query to my Excel 2019 application, it does not show up as either an "Inactive Application Add-In" or in "Manage COM addins".

My IT department says that Power Query is not available for Excel2019.  Below is their response:

Power Query has been removed from Excel 2019 on March 4, 2019

Everything I see on the web says Power Query is standard with Excel 2019  Has anyone else had this problem?

Hi David,

In Excel 2019 Power Query is built-in, not a separate add-in.

You'll find it on the Data tab, in the Get & Transform Data section.

Hi David,

It's a little worrying that your IT department have the wrong information!

The Get Data from PDF connector is an update only available to Office/Microsoft 365 subscribers. Like Phil said, you will still have Power Query, but you can't get the new PDF connector unless you upgrade to a Microsoft 365 licence.
