Hi,
I succeeded to make a nice Query for my friend who has a MAC
she installed Office for Mac (just yesterday), but seems like she is not able to refresh the data
There is no error but the data does not get updated, I tried the same file and that worked for me
The data comes from a table within the file

Hi Claudine,
Does she have Office 365 for Mac or an earlier version? It's available for Office 365 subscribers in Excel for Mac running version 16.29 (19090802) and later. More here.

Hi Mynda,
New installment, Office 365 version is 16.36 (20041300)
The connection is there, only, nothing happens when we do a refresh
Can it be due to a setting that disables the update?

Hi Claudine,
If you read the information at the link above it says "You can now refresh the Power Query queries in your workbook that pull data from Text, CSV, XLSX, XML or JSON files."
If you read through the comments on this post it is clarified that it can only refresh connections to external data. i.e. not data inside the same file as the query.
You will also need your user to update the file path to suit the Mac file location as the file paths are different to Windows.

Hi Mynda
Overlooked the fact that it can only read data from files, I updated the query to derive data from a separate file now.
Only strange thing is that the "Change File Path button" isn't available (see attached screenshot)
Friend was planning to install Office on a PC of her kid, that will be the easiest 🙂

Hi Claudine,
No screenshot attached, but you can always open the Advanced Editor and change the file path in there. You might need to do this on your PC before handing the file over to your friend.
