Hi,
Thank you Mynda for your help with my previous question, it was very useful. This time I need to merge 2 different spreadsheets which have such headers structure:
spreadsheet 1
Scheme | Range | Model | Reg Pfx | Reg Number | Stock No. | Disc. Cost | Status Live? | Veh Sts | Order No. | Emp. Department | Emp. Surname | Emp. Forename
spreadsheet 2
Scheme | Reg Number | Stock No. | Range | Model | Colr | Reg Date | Final Mileage | Disc. Cost | Veh Sts
What's best way to combine them? by using merge feature in power query? Thank you for your help.
Gosia
Hi Gosia,
You can append them and any columns that don't match will be empty for one dataset and vice versa.
Mynda
Hi Mynda, thank you for that suggestion -it worked well. The only issue is that in column headers Status and Veh Sts I have the same type of data that I would like to have in one column. What would be the best way to bring this together? When I append them they sit in two different columns currently.
Thank you
Gosia
Rename the columns before appending so they match and then Power Query will know they are the same.
