Hi,

I have created a Template workbook with several queries that reference some datasource files. From that template i create new workbooks that pull from the same datasources but they are filtered for data that is particular to each workbook. I have 30 workbooks that were created from the same template and they work fine. But if I need to change something in a query to compile data in a different way, then I need to update it across all 30 workbooks. Ideally they workbooks would all reference each of the queries in the Template file and I would only make changes in the Template and the change would propagate to all 30 workbooks. Any suggestions on how I can solve for this?

Thanks,

Dana

Hi Dana,

See lesson 5.06 and use the ODC file method.

Thank you so much for the quick response. Can the ODC Workbook Connection be saved in a Sharepoint shared folder? The workbooks that I want to use the template query in are shared with some other members of the organization and they will need to be able to refresh the queries as well.

I assume so. You'd have to test it to see for sure.
