Hello, I am Anupam from India. I am very new to Power Query and Power Pivot. I want to build a sales dashboard using Power Query and Power Pivot. Dates are key for this dashboard. But dates are behaving like text format after loading power pivot into sheets. Though the format is showing as Date. I am unable to group them in Months/Years. Please help.

Hi Anupam,

As I explained in my reply to your duplicate question on our YouTube channel, in Excel 2013 you have to use a Date/Calendar table to specify grouping. It's a rather complex topic and I haven't written any free tutorials on it, however I cover it in detail in my Power Pivot course: https://www.myonlinetraininghub.com/power-pivot-course

If you'd like to give it a go, then I recommend you use Power Query to generate your list of dates and from there you can add columns for the grouping of months, quarters, years etc.: https://www.myonlinetraininghub.com/power-query-lists
