Hello Power BI Gurus,
Appreciate if you can help me out with a particular issue that I have. I've been tasked to build a dashboard to show the evolution of foreign currency rates from 2019 onwards.
My data table has about 50 different currencies (for example, GBP, EUR, CHF etc) against the US dollar. I've managed to create a chart that shows how a particular currency has evolved against the US dollar. And using a drop down list as a slicer, the user is able to select the currency that he/she wishes to see. This reduces me having to display 50 different currency charts in a report.
The next step will be to see how different cross currencies have evolved. For example, instead of seeing how the GBP has evolved against the USD, I would like to see how GBP has evolved against the EUR. With 50 different currencies, there are just too many combinations to calculate each cross currency pair.
Hence, is it possible to:
1. Have a chart where the user can enter the 2 currencies he/she wants to look at (for example, GBP against EUR)
2. With the selection, Power BI will then calculate the cross currency rates and generate a chart based on the currencies selected
3. The chart will change accordingly with different currencies selected
Thank you!

Hi Vincent,
Thanks for sharing your file. It's a little over my head, but I expect you'll need to write a measure similar to the correlation measure, except it calculates the Exchange rates based on the selection in two Slicers, one for each currency using the Currency List and Currency List Filter.
As a proof of concept, you can create a line chart using the Correlation measure in the values, the date in the axis and the currency in the legend. Then add a Slicer for the Currency List Filter and another for the Currency List and you can filter based on different pairs.
Sorry I'm not more help.
