Looking at the Power BI Lesson 4.14, the process for adding the country to the field "State, Country" does not seem to be working as expected.

The calculated field clearly shows "NT, Australia" and "WA. Australia" however on the map these are still appearing in Canada and Washington State respectively. It would appear that on the map, there is no difference in using the "State" field vs the "State, Country" field

Hi Brad,

Have you set the data categories in the modelling tab to 'Country' and 'State'?

Hi Mynda

The Data Category for the 'State, Country' Calculated Column is set to 'State or Province' (as per your video)

Also I should note that I am looking at your Power BI File, PBID_4.14_pbi_aus_map_after.pbix

Hi Brad,

Looks like they changed the way Power BI handles the appended state, country fields. Change the Data Category to 'Place' and that should fix it.

I'll make a note on the video and provide an updated .pbix file in the file downloads.
