Hi,

I need your assistance please. I need to return value for close of the day for range of cells from K4:KL4. Time needed is 23:55 which can be found in column B. So essentially the formula is expected to return close value in cells K4:KL4 at time 23:55 for each dates as specified in my sheet.

I do not mind the formula returned with functions available with either excel 2019 0r office 365 as I have both.

The sheets have been attached for reference.

Thank you.

NB - pls ignore second attachment it is same as the first.

Hi abayomi

In cell K4 enter

=SUMIFS($F:$F,$A:$A,K1,$B:$B,TIME(23,55,0))

Drag across the required columns

Hope this helps

Sunny

You can also try using a Pivot Table for all the results.

I have attached a sample for your reference. Note that I have deleted some of your data as the file is too large to be uploaded.

The concept is still there.

Convert your data to a table (I have not done it in the attached) and add 2 helper columns.

The create the Pivot Table.

Dear Sunny, thank you once again and sorry for the late response. I will try the pivot table option with helper column right away. Will inform you of the output soon.

Dear Sunny,

Hope your day is going great! I have yet another dilemma. Attached is a sheet  but I want to perform logical functions within it.

I want the formula to look at the left table(Table1) and check only between time 10:00 and 23:00 and also within the range of values of row 10 and 11 of Table2(Right Table) and return a value of 1 for True and 0 for False.

So I believe the rule should be; for the values that exceed the range of cell 10 and 11 of table 2, find in Table1 when the CLOSE(Column F) exceeds the range in cell row 10 and 11 of Table2 but add +10 to the HIGH VALUE or subtract 10 from LOW VALUE (which ever is relevant) but this operation should only be carried out between Time 10:00 to 23:00.  (NB: The Close value is used as reference but value is returned for the High or Low @ Close value adjusting +/-10 to the logical function)

For this purpose, rows 10 & 11 of Table2 act as a range for each date. This returned logical statement can be in Row 13 or 14 of Table 2

I hope you get to understand the criteria. kindly find the attached sheet for this purpose. Office 2019 is my preferred tool.  My appreciation in advance. Thank you.

NB Im sorry I think I forgot to add this- The above criteria should be calculated only when either OPEN, CLOSE, HIGH, LOW values are within the range of Table2 then move out from the range following the time range and close criteria earlier given.

1. start from the range (values must always fall within range then move out of it to pass this criteria)

2. Only between Time 10:00 to 23:00

3. Close exceeds  range, check values for High or low, adjust +/-10

4. Logical function 1 if true, 0 if false

Im sorry if its a lot to digest. But let me know if you have any confusion. Thanks

Frankly I don't understand your questions nor what is your expected answers.

It is best you should ALWAYS give samples of expected results (and how you derive the answers) so that we can cross check if our suggested solutions are correct.

I am currently only making a guess, so please refer file attached.

Good luck.

Dear Sunny,

My sincere apologies for the confusion caused. I also know I did little to help with the scenario presented. I promise to do better in the future and follow your suggested guideline.

I must however commend you, you are indeed A Master with the Excel and you should be referred to "Mr. Excel of our time!."  You did justice to it despite my insufficient information. I really hope you have a book in the near future to put in all your vast experience so we all learn at your feet. Thank you Sir. You earned my respect! Im sorry for initial headache caused .
