Hi Andrew,
I think I get the idea. Just a question, which version of Excel are you using?
I'm asking this because of the use of the newest functions in 365 as well as some in 2021 which are not available in the earlier versions.
You, see there quite a few new internal functions which make the need ov VBA less necessary

First idea no macro's
I used the filter function and the extra column 1 or 0 to select the odd or even rows.
Needs more working out for the combined stats which I don't understand what you want but this is step one
Your Player A or B and Team A or B or C, this means that they ocurr more than onca, not unique, correct?

I got it wrong since A can combine with C in the same team.
Back to the drawing borad, but this was the idea.
I think a macro wiill have to be the way I'm using Excel 2021 with some of the new functions but LET and LAMBDA could help and I don't have these in this version
If you can further explain what has to written in the Combined Stat A or B columns I'll put a macro to work

Hi Hans
Thanks for looking at thisnfor me.
Im not atvmy PC atvthe moment on my phone.
To answer your questions.
Yes i wpuld prefer no vba
The pairs shouls be uniques so if team A has 4 players i need the pairs to be
Player 1 - player 2
Player 1 - player 3
Player 1 - player 4
Player 2 - player 3
Player 2 - player 4
Player 3 - player 4
They only need to be in pairs not trios or larger just pairs
Dont worry about adding the stats i can do xlookups to fill those in later from my initial data.
Its getting the pairing quickly i need as im hand doing it atvthe moment for over 20 different teams with multiple players in each team.
Thank you

Hi Hans
I think i might have found a solution to this using power query.
it doesnt do exactly what i need in one go but gives me the pairing's of all players from all teams and then i can use xlookup's to find teams and combined stats. combining that with filters seems to give me what i require.
I have done a dummy run and after initial set up i can get what i need in around 5 mins which is amazing.
Thank you for time trying to help with this.
much apprecited
