I recently started using MS 365 excel and have struck an issue when I create formulas in my spreadsheet. When is use the = to preceed my formula it will not work and the error box pops up says the following below.
I need a fix for this as it ws my first time doing a formula using 365. the formula will work using 1 criteria and not the or function. hope some one can help.
Message is as follows.
There"s a problem with the formula.
Not trying to type a formula?
When the 1st character is an equal(-) or a minus (-) sign. Excel thinks it is a formula:
Toget around this, type an apostrophe (") first.
My formula is
-if(or( d24 is greater than or equal to 28, D24 is less than or equal to 31), H23*$F$2, else a zero

Hi Dennis,
The reason you're getting that error is because your formula is incorrect. Please see this tutorial on how to write an IF formula.
If you're still stuck, please share your example Excel file so we can see where things have gone wrong.
