Hi
I have worksheet where one of the option box groups is based on another cell and I don't want it to be manipulated by users. There are 3 options in the one group. I've locked both the option box and the linked cell and when I select one of the unchecked option boxes in the group I get the error message "the cell or chart that you are trying to change is protected and therefore read only" which is all good and as expected.
The unexpected part is that the box originally checked and protected now is unchecked visually. I say visually because the value of the option box is still in the protected linked cell. How can I make it so the option box remains visually checked? Thanks.
All assistance greatly appreciated.

Hi Shelley
When you click on an option button , the other options within that group will be automatically unchecked.
Since you hit an error due to protection of the sheet, all the button's status was left as unchecked.
If you need to protect your sheet, I would suggest you put the cell link in another unprotected sheet and hide that sheet.
You could also put the cell link in an unlocked cell in the current sheet and hide the column/row (and hope no one finds it ).
Hope this helps.
