I am looking for Excel training course(s) so I can accomplish the following.  myOnlineTraininghub might have what I need but I am not sure.

For some background, I am a pension actuary. I would like to create function(s) in Excel for annuity factors.  Annuity factors are based on the following.

Mortality Table - An array of probabilities based on age.  These range from 1 - 120.

Interest rate

Type of annuity. (This could results in another mortality table being used.)

Once I have the variables read in, I can handle the mathematics involved.  I just need to know how to use the tools.

I've been able to read in a mortality table that is a named range in Excel.

I've used functions developed by others where the mortality was stored somewhere else.  Having the mortality tables in Excel would be fine but I am curious as to other ways to store them.

I could just use other systems but want to learn how to do it myself.

Hi David,

I'm not clear on whether the problem is getting the Mortality Table into Excel from an external source, or how to reference a Mortality Table of data in an existing file?

Perhaps you can upload a sample file that illustrates what you're struggling with.

Hi Mynda,

I am able to get the mortality table into Excel.  I had to get help from this forum to reference the array values.

I now want to manipulate the data but don't want to post here every step of the way on how to do things.

I want to create the VBA to perform calculations based on input to a custom function that I will create.

Are there any books or courses you can recommend?

Thank you,

Dave
