Hi, I just need some inspiration!

Im creating a JSA excel database to make easier for people to select a series of steps

In JSA Table Of Content TAB. Cell A3 I have a data validation on step series but when I person selects Step 1.2. I want the rest of the 1st column to increment in point series Step 1.0, Step 1.1, Step 1.2.

If im not on the right track would anyone know any other Excel JSA database instead of a word template.

Thanks

Steve

Hi Steven

Do you want the sub step to appear below the selection ie, the user selects 1.3 so you want 1.3.1, 1.3.2, 1.3.3 & 1.3.4 to appear below it?

Will all the main steps appear on every report? If so, cant you just have the list on the main sheet? Will main steps (or sub steps) repeat?

I would strongly advise against using Merged cells on any excel worksheet as it is likley to cause problems at some point

Hi Purfleet,

There is more questions to be raised!

But in saying that, Yes, I am thinking of having a Sub step below the selection.

There no steps repeated.

But!.....I am now thinking that perhaps I could create a JSA "Step Card" in VBA using mulit-page segment. Using a sheet TAB of advanced filters taking all the criteria from a combobox select a Step. All the content relating to that step and then be shown in a listbox indicate what is required.

Once this "JSA card" is completed ready to go they hit Create JSA Step card 1, or 2, or 3 ect. All the data will then be transferred to the same "Template"  thus creating a JSA report similar to word template.

Maybe you can let me know how you go with the sub step but this database may be tossed cause its just to damn hard!

Steve
