Hi

I am looking for a formula, currently I can only think of using an if statement but I am not sure if it is the most practical. I am thinking ..if identifier is exact, put value from 1, and value from 2 and so.

The spreadsheet I have contains few columns but hundreds of rows.

Master - the first tab of the spreadsheet contains - an identifier (number), description, value1 and value 2 (4 columns)

sheet1 - summarizes a few identifiers from the master

sheet2 - summarizes a few identifiers from the master

sheet3 - summarizes a few identifiers from the master

I need to summarize identifiers on separate tabs within the same spreadsheet but need a formula that will capture changes if the original data is changed.

I hope I have explained this well enough....

As I understand it: The identifier is the unique key?

Then you can use probably the Vlookup on the summarize sheets, depending on which identifiers you want to summarize there.

Any change in the Master sheet is then followed on the summarize sheet.

But I'm afraid the information in your question is not complete? Please try to give an example file?

Hmmm, PivotTable comes to mind, but like Frans says, a sample file will help us to help you further.
