This is the first time I am adding to this forum.
I wish to create a list of employees with pictures of the workers in the same row along with the other particulars and for this I have to individually copy and paste the pictures or import the picture files, but the pictures are imported as object and I cannot use the filters without disturbing the pictures for example if I have to filter the employees of a department then the pictures of the employees are not filtered, same is the problem with another file, which is the audit report and I have to put the pictorial evidence in front of each finding, again I have to import each picture from the folder and also filter cannot be used there.
How can I put my pictures in a cell as text or other form so that I can use the filter and also how can I link my pictures from a folder directly into the excel cell?

Hi shafiz
(A) To be able to filter, you will need to fit the picture exactly into a single cell and then set its property to Move and size with cell. Please refer attachment.
(B) As for the link, you could consider using a comment to insert the image. I am unable to upload a sample as the file with linked images is very large and exceed the allowable size but you can follow the instructions below.
1) Insert a comment in each cell
2) You will need to remove the text (author's name) from the comment
3) Right-click the edge of the comment and select Format Comment
4) Select the Colors and Lines tab
5) Select Fill - Color - Fill Effects - Picture
6) Click Select Picture
7) Select your picture and click Insert-OK-OK
8) Fit the inserted image into the cell
9) Change the image property to Move and size with cell
Hope this helps.

Another approach you can see at http://trumpexcel.com/2015/04/.....dashboard/ of our friend in India Sumit Bansal. In his tutorial/error-refreshing-connections-dashboard-report he uses some tricks to get the right picture of a person in his dashboard. Maybe it's something?

Hi Frans
Thanks for sharing the link. Very interesting indeed.
Just to share some thought on this subject. Most of the time I have to face situations where 100's of pictures (with different file formats such as gif, bmp, jpg and size) need to be inserted beside a list of names. The pictures then need to be fitted exactly into each cell and must be able to resize with the cell. Worse still, some want the pictures to be displayed only when hovering the mouses over the names. That means inserting the pictures into Comments. Another situation, get the pictures out of the Comments into cells!!. The downside of inserting images is extremely large file size and may slow down performance.
