I need help knowing whether it is possible to have sparklines become dynamic with slicers.
Currently my situation is as follows:
I have a set of top ten items sold with the sparklines beside it. My data is looking over 2+years. My reference for the sparklines is a basic array and everything looks good.
I also have a slicer that effects the pivot table that the sparklines are based off of. So if I select just one year, my sparklines become so scrunched as I get something like this:
I understand why this is happening, because my original array now accounts for a large portion which is blank. I've tried to think of a way to use getpivotdata rather than a simple static array but the video on GetPivotData only shows how to grab single items not necessarily how to use an array of numbers. I'm actually not even sure if it is possible. So that is why am here. Am I working on something that is futile or is there a way to make my sparklines meaningful each time the slicer affects the pivot table?
Hi Calla,
Yes, you can use a dynamic named range in your Sparkline 'Data Range'. I teach dynamic named ranges in sessions 5.12 and 5.13 of the Dashboard course you're enrolled in.
If you get stuck please use the Dashboard Members forum to post your question or email me direct.
