I have a dashboard set up to analyse data in the master table. In a nutshell, this master table is a list of results and at the end of the table are several columns (scenarios 1 to 7) that highlight which rows meet the specific requirements for each scenario.
This dashboard analyses the results of column T (scenario 1) by referencing pivot tables on the 'scen1pivot' sheet and has two slicers that filter by Year-Quarter and a numeric identifier.
In order to analyse scenario 2 I copied both the 'scen1' and 'scen1pivot' sheets and renamed all the pivot tables/charts, which seems to work fine. However when i've looked at the Report Connections on the slicers they are still ticked as connected to the original pivot tables and when I select one of the renamed tables it force ticks all the tables/charts and gives the message 'the following filter controls will all be connected to this pivottable'.
Is this because the new sheet is referencing the same pivot cache? ideally I would like to be able to filter each scenario independently.
Any suggestions of what might be the issue are greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Hi Richard,
Welcome to our forum!
What is 'scen1'? Is this the source data for 'scen1pivot'? If so, then you need to recreate the second PivotTable based on the copied version of 'scen1' data if you want it to reference a different pivot cache.
That said, you should be able to create Slicers that are connected to different PivotTables that are all built from the same source data/cache. Perhaps you can delete the Slicers and re-insert them?

Thank you for your reply Mynda,
I managed to sort the issue thankfully, 'scen1' is the dashboard showing the charts etc from the pivot tables on the 'scen1pivot' sheet, which reference the source data on the 'basedata' sheet.
It turns out that when I copy the 'scen1' and 'scen1pivot' worksheets, the slicers on the 'scen1' dashboard add new connections that refer to the pivot tables/charts on the new sheets. This meant that when I went to assign the connections to the new slicers on the 'scen2' dashboard, excel recognised the existing connection on the original sheet and threw up the warning.
To prevent this error, every time I copy the sheets I have to go back to the original and uncheck these new connections before trying to assign any connections on the new slicers.
