Hi all - first post here (likely of many) so please let me know if this breaks any rules or is in the wrong location.
I'm looking for some advice on how to create a pretty specific chart. I'd like a view that will show how many widgets my team is completing each month (or possibly each week) against a static goal.
When widgets get completed, the data is already automatically pulling into a master tracker, so I'm trying to build a pivot chart off this master tracker
For example, the goal for May is to complete 10/week, the goal for June is to complete 15/week, July 20/week, etc., stacked against how many are actually completed each week to see if we are making progress at a macro level.
In my mind I picture a stacked bar graph with months along the 'x' axis and pre-populated bars so that the maximum is the total monthly goal (eg for May, the bar would go up to 40 on the 'y' axis) then layer in how many are actually completed so that this second bar shows how close to the monthly goal we are.
My question is - what is the most efficient way to format the master inventory chart to get this view? Could I create a new 'Date Completed' column that can be manually filled in each time a widget is complete, and then correlate this with the pivot chart so that the values are being captured within the correct month? Coming up with the formatting to create this view is where I'm struggling. Any and all advise is appreciated
Thank you!!
Hi John,
Can you please share a sample Excel file containing the data you have to work with (anonymized if need be). We can help you to construct a chart from there.
